(^There are a lot of conjunctions in that last sentence. God.)
But there's this Editor Guy named Andrew Karre, right? And slowly he's been reminding me why I fell in love with these fake people in the first place. Finally today, I felt like I knew what I was doing again. So today on my walk with Pablo, when this song came on, I felt it fit the situation perfectly. Thank you, Andrew.
Couldn't agree more. I feel very lucky to have him in my corner!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how he does it. Juggles all these stories in his head. Seeing possibilities into them that writer herself cannot see. It sounds like the hardest job in the world.
DeleteI've been revisiting old friends from old writing and they are so innocent that they are basically ghosts. I remember when they were good stories, when I felt them and wanted to nurture and nourish them into full form. But now... I'm starting over and it is really hard. Hurrah for excellent editors, I desperately need an excellent proof reader.
ReplyDeleteI think it's good if you can find the love. I can usually find the love again if I haven't finished the project. But book #1 was one of the few novels I'd ever 'finished' and so I just felt 'over it.' I was more into my next thing, which was hogging up my brain space and convincing me it was the better pursuit.
DeleteBut if you feel like these ghosts are just vapor with no juice - that's way easier to chuck.
